About News Stopper EA
The News Stopper EA (version 1.0, MQ4 source code), available on GitHub (faraz-hk/news_stopper_mt4), atomfx.store, and thetradelovers.gumroad.com, is a free utility for MetaTrader 4 designed to disable auto-trading before and after scheduled news events, using the ForexFactory economic calendar as its data source.
Key capabilities include stopping auto-trading and optionally closing open orders before/after news, with a configurable custom profit value for closures. Traders can specify a custom list of currencies to monitor for news, or let the EA automatically detect relevant currencies from the current chart. It supports filtering news by impact level, and can selectively close only orders whose symbol is directly affected by the news event (e.g. only USD-related pairs close on USD news). It includes alert and phone notification support and is free with no expiry date.
