About This Indicator

The classic Bollinger Bands indicator, created by John Bollinger in the 1980s, remains a cornerstone of technical analysis, documented at best-metatrader-indicators.com and available as MT4's built-in indicator (Insert → Indicators → Trend → Bollinger Bands). It plots a moving-average midline with upper/lower bands set at a standard-deviation distance, adapting automatically to market volatility.

Enhanced variants such as the Bollinger Bands Trader (by Trade Code Labs) add a free mean-reversion signal layer on top of the classic bands, while the Bollinger Bands Breakout Alert (earnforex.com) adds email/app/on-screen notifications when price breaks out of or returns inside the bands.
